PARTICULATE FILTER ISSUES

DPF Filter

Diesel particulate filters (DPF) play a crucial role in reducing harmful emissions from diesel engines. Over time, these filters become clogged with soot and ash, resulting in adverse effects on engine performance, namely: a clogged filter impairs engine performance, which can increase fuel consumption by 10-20%. Reduced power and worsened dynamics: engine power can be reduced by 20-30%.
All this in turn leads to higher costs of its operation. A clogged filter element prevents the exhaust gases from being discharged, as a result of which the soot contained in them gets into the oil, changing its properties. Approximately 3% of soot is due to gas breakthrough, as a result of which it settles on the rings, enters the crankcase and circulates through the engine, coming into contact with engine parts. The result is accelerated wear on the engine's lubrication and circuit seals.
There is no problem removing the soot from the filter; the car itself does this by activating the engine regeneration mode. However, over time, ash accumulates in the particulate filter - a non-combustible residue formed by the complete combustion of fuel and soot.
Cleaning the DPF gives it a second life and significant cost savings for the vehicle owner, while also positively affecting the environment.

PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION

THERE ARE TWO MAIN WAYS TO CLEAN A PARTICULATE FILTER:

[ 1 ] One-way washing:

This is a less effective cleaning method, commonly used by manufacturers of such equipment. The cleaning is done from the exhaust side. Often, additional chemicals are used to enhance the cleaning efficiency in this method.

ONE-WAY WASHING

[ 2 ] Flow-reversal washing

This is the most effective cleaning method applied in the MS900 system.

Changing the flow of the cleaning liquid improves the separation of soot and ash from the filter walls, and the impact impulses of compressed air enhance this effect.
Washing the particulate filter with flow reversal allows for a faster and higher- quality cleaning, even without the use of special chemicals.

The filter cleaning process with the MS900 system involves 4 stages:

Stage 1

Filter testing

1 min.

Stage 2

Washing

30-60 min.

Stage 3

Drying

15-20 min.

Stage 4

Re-testing

1 min.

ADVANTAGES OF THE MS900 SYSTEM

  • LOW COST OF PARTICULATE FILTER CLEANING

The low cost is achieved by not requiring special chemicals for washing. In the MS900 system, the cleaning of the particulate filter is done only with warm water, which undergoes three filtration stages:● Coarse cleaning (coarse filter);● Medium fraction cleaning (hydrocyclone);● Fine fraction cleaning (polypropylene filters BB20).
The three-stage purification allows for water replacement in the tank no more than once a month, contributing to cost savings.
The main operating costs of the system include:● Electricity: for water heating, filter drying, and stand unit operation during washing;● Replacement of polypropylene filters BB20;● Wages for the operator-mechanic.

  • VERSATILITY

The kit comes with a wide range of fittings for connecting various particulate filters, both for passenger and commercial vehicles.

  • SHORT CLEANING TIME OF PARTICULATE FILTER

When using chemical agents for cleaning, a lot of time is required for the
particulate filter to soak in the chemical solution. Then, the filter needs to be washed with water and dried.

The washing technology of the MS900 system eliminates the soaking stage, allowing for immediate cleaning.

The cleaning time depends on the size and degree of contamination of the filter. The dirtier and larger the filter, the longer it takes to clean.

  • HIGH PERFORMANCE

Thanks to the modular design of the MS900 system, there is the possibility to
simultaneously wash and dry particulate filters, doubling productivity compared to the classic "all-in-one" option.

This approach optimizes work processes and increases efficiency with minimal financial investment.

  • USER-FRIENDLY

    ● The washing and drying process is automated. The control menu of the modules is simple and intuitive, allowing quick training of the operator- mechanic for successful operation.
    ● The complex's software allows setting washing parameters for particulate filters of the same type. These settings, called "Presets," save time in preparing the system for work.
    ● The closed washing process ensures cleanliness and order in the chamber and at the workplace.

  • RESULTS PRESERVATION AND PRINTING

The system allows saving diagnostic results before/after washing, maintaining and reviewing the history of washed filters, and printing diagnostic results on a Bluetooth printer (included in the kit).

  • SIMPLICITY OF TRANSPORTATION AND INSTALLATION

The modular design simplifies the process of transportation, installation, maintenance, and upgrades. The system's construction and equipment facilitate self-installation, with detailed installation information provided in the user manual.

  • SAFETY

    ● The operation of our system excludes contact with chemically active and health-hazardous substances.
    ● The system includes all possible protections against unforeseen situations. In case of a malfunction, the stand will indicate the cause.

FAQ

  • What kind of particulate filters does MS900 clean?

All, particulate filters of cars and commercial vehicles vehicles.

  • How many filters can the complex wash per day?

On average, 5-6 per work shift. It all depends on the size of the filter and the degree of its contamination.

  • Why do particulate filters get clogged?

    ● The service life of the particulate filter has expired, regulated by the manufacturer.● Malfunctions of the engine fuel system.● Oil ingress into the exhaust system (engine problems: turbine, cylinder head, piston). cylinder, piston).● Incorrect engine operation modes (city mode of operation).

  • What parameters can be adjusted in the software?

    ● 900V: total flushing time, number of pulses in one direction, time of compressed air pulse delivery air pulse, time between pulses, time air blowing of the filter after flushing, minimum water level in the tank, after which the after which the rinsing process stops.● 900A: maximum air temperature during drying during drying, drying time, cooling temperature of the system after drying.

  • Can the complex wash catalytic converters?

Yes, but this is undesirable due to the design of this unit. During washing, the following may be washed away neutralizer catalysts, such as platinum, palladium and rhodium, which will negatively affect exhaust cleaning.

  • How well does the MS900 clean particulate filters?

After washing, your diesel particulate filters will be fully comply with Euro standards.
